Review: 75. Kitty Rocks the House by Carrie Vaughn…

Have you checked out Carrie Vaughn’s Kitty Norville series? I’m addicted to these books, and couldn’t wait to check out the latest, Kitty Rocks the House!

kitty rocks the housedrey’s thoughts:

Kitty’s barely back in Denver, and she has a funeral to attend, finds out her sister’s losing it, and meets a new werewolf who wanders into town. All while she’s trying to build an alliance to fight Roman in the Long Game.

Then Rick disappears with a vampire-priest. Yup, apparently there are vampire-priests. Brings to mind a book I enjoyed earlier this year – The Blood Gospel by James Rollins and Rebecca Cantrell…

ANYWAY. Back to Kitty. Who’s stressed out, because the vampires won’t listen to a werewolf, and Rick’s not around. Who’s worried about the new wolf, whom she suspects is trying to undermine her authority, but he does it so nicely that she can’t be sure. Who’s trying to understand her sister’s going off the rails, but can’t Cheryl see that Kitty’s got the world on her shoulders? Who’d love to just sit for a minute and rest, but can’t because she’s always running around (I want to say “like a chicken with her head cut off”, but who knows if they do? Run around, I mean…) fixing something or the other, trying to protect those she loves – family, wolves, and even *gasp* vampires.

But this is Kitty, and while it isn’t easy-peasy, she manages to do it all – and with brains instead of brawn, which is the reason I’m such a huge fan. Hopefully she’ll have time to catch her breath before the next installment’s craziness descends… If you love urban fantasy, you’ll love Kitty Norville. If you haven’t met her yet, pick up Kitty and the Midnight Hour – now, because you have a whole pile of books to inhale. I’ll see you when you come up for air.
