Review: 141. Mind Games by Kiersten White…

How did I miss the release of Kiersten White’s Mind Games in February? Oh well, better late than never, right?

mind gamesdrey’s thoughts:

Mind Games is a story of two orphaned sisters – one blind, both with special abilities. They’re offered spots in a boarding school for others like them, where it doesn’t take long for Fia to realize that they’re being used. Fia, for her perfect instinct. Annie, for her visions of the future.

Fia wants to run, but it’s really really hard to plan an escape when her teacher can read minds and her ex-roomate can feel others’ emotions. By the time Fia realizes anything she thinks is fair game, it’s too late – the Keane Foundation’s holding Annie as insurance for Fia’s cooperation. Cooperation in activities that can damage a girl’s psyche and kill her soul… If she lets it.

So Fia takes the advice of the Foundation owner’s son James – never plan anything in advance, never give them a chance to find out.

Mind Games is an action-packed paranormal thriller with a smart, three-dimensional heroine who has everything to lose, whether she plays by the rules or not. Fia is complicated and compelling, and you won’t want to stop reading her story – or Annie’s, both of which are told in chapters alternating between present and past. You’ll feel sorry for the burden Fia carries, wish she was able to share it, and cheer when she figures a way out.

And you’ll want the next book right now. Because there has to be a next book. Right? 🙂
