Happy New Year, y’all! Can you believe it’s 2014 already? I can’t. I barely made it through the summer of 2013… o.O
Anyway. 2014’s here, and with are some New Year Resolutions from a few of Atria’s authors!
What is your New Year’s Resolution?
John Connolly: I don’t think I’ve ever made one, and I have no plans to start now. Oh, wait: not dying. I’m pretty much resolved to avoid dying. I really can’t see much of an upside to it.
John Connolly is the author of The Wrath of Angels, The Burning Soul, The Book of Lost Things, and Bad Men, among many others. He is a regular contributor to The Irish Times and lives in Dublin, Ireland. For more information, see his website at JohnConnollyBooks.com, or follow him on Twitter @JConnollyBooks.
Abbi Glines: Spend less time on Twitter… but that was last year’s resolution too.
Abbi Glines is the New York Times, USA TODAY, and Wall Street Journal bestselling author of the Rosemary Beach, Sea Breeze, Vincent Boys, and Existence series. A devoted booklover, Abbi lives with her family in Alabama. She maintains a Twitter addiction at @AbbiGlines and can also be found at Facebook.com/AbbiGlinesAuthor and AbbiGlines.com.
John Lescroart: ”Don’t Worry, Be Happy.”
John Lescroart is the author of twenty-four previous novels (sixteen New York Times bestsellers), including The 13th Juror, Damage, The Hunter, and The Ophelia Cut. His books have sold more than 10 million copies and have been translated into twenty-two languages in seventy-five countries. He lives in Northern California.
Liza Marklund: To be a bit more easy going and not dive into everything like my life depended on it.
Liza Marklund is an author, journalist, and goodwill ambassador for UNICEF. Her crime novels, featuring the relentless reporter Annika Bengtzon, instantly became international hits and have sold millions of copies in thirty languages worldwide. She lives in Stockholm, Sweden, and Marbella, Spain, where she is at work on the next installment of the series. Visit her website at LizaMarklund.com.
Spencer Quinn: My New Year’s resolution is to do better on these questions next year. Anything more ambitious than that would be doomed from the get-go.
Spencer Quinn is the author of six Chet and Bernie mystery novels: Dog on It, Thereby Hangs a Tail, To Fetch a Thief, The Dog Who Knew Too Much, A Fistful of Collars, and The Sound and the Furry. He lives on Cape Cod with his dogs Audrey and Pearl. When not keeping them out of mischief, he is hard at work on the next Chet and Bernie mystery. Keep up with him – and with Chet and Bernie – by visiting ChetTheDog.com.
K.A.Robinson: To try not to stress so much.
K.A. Robinson is the New York Times bestselling author of two novels: Torn and Twisted. She lives in West Virginia with her husband and their son.
M.J. Rose: I don’t ever make them -they are too easy to break and then you get depressed and I’m too much on an optimist to want to deal with failure that early in the year.
M.J. Rose is the international bestselling author of thirteen novels, one of which (The Reincarnationist) was the basis of the television series Past Lives. She is a founding board member of International Thriller Writers and the founder of the first marketing company for authors: AuthorBuzz.com. She lives in Greenwich, Connecticut.
Well, there you go. What about you? What’re your resolutions for 2014? Mine is to not stress so much (ha ha!) and to remember to take the time to smell the roses. And read, of course.
